"God only answers big public prayers, not my small private ones."
How it sounds in your head: The church prays for missionaries and big needs—those get answered. But my small, personal requests? God's too busy for that. I'm being selfish asking for my little things.
"But the very hairs of your head are all numbered."
-- Matthew 10:30Religious hierarchy that ranks prayers by perceived importance, suggesting God has priority tiers.
Hearing testimonies of 'big' answered prayers while his 'small' ones seem ignored creates a false hierarchy. Declining importance in the world makes him feel unimportant to God.
Jesus was on His way to heal a RULER'S daughter—a 'big important' miracle. This unnamed woman with a bleeding problem touched His garment in a CROWD. Jesus STOPPED the important mission, turned around, and gave her full attention, calling her 'Daughter.' Her 'small' personal need got His immediate, public affirmation.
I REFUSE the lie that my prayers are too small for God's attention. IT IS WRITTEN that the very hairs of my head are numbered—nothing is beneath His notice. He stopped for one bleeding woman in a crowd while on His way to heal a ruler's daughter. IT IS WRITTEN that He cares for sparrows and clothes the grass—how much more does He care for me, His son? The BARAK blessing covers the small and the large. My requests delight Him, not because they're important but because I'M important to Him.
The Father doesn't have a prayer hierarchy where your 'small' requests get stuck in the spam folder. He's like the father who gave the prodigal the ROBE, the RING, and the SANDALS—extravagant attention to detail because you MATTER, not because your request is big enough.
