"God is teaching me patience through the silence, so I shouldn't expect answers yet."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe this delay is a lesson. Maybe God wants me to learn to be content without the answer. Maybe I'm being spiritually matured through the waiting and wanting it NOW is immature.
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."
-- James 1:17Religious teaching that makes God the author of delay and withholding, portraying patience as passive acceptance of unanswered prayer instead of confident expectation.
Sermons for decades about 'God's timing,' 'lessons in waiting,' and 'the blessing is in the journey' make her feel guilty for wanting breakthrough NOW. At 90+ maybe she's supposed to just accept the NO as sanctification.
He cried out LOUDLY for mercy - people told him to BE QUIET and be patient. Jesus heard him, called him over, asked 'What do you WANT?' and healed him IMMEDIATELY. Jesus rewarded bold asking, not polite waiting.
I REFUSE the lie that God is withholding to teach me patience. IT IS WRITTEN that EVERY good gift comes DOWN from the Father - He's a giver, not a lesson-through-deprivation teacher. My Father doesn't give stones when I ask for bread. IT IS WRITTEN Jesus came to give ABUNDANT LIFE, and the thief comes to steal it. I declare God is NOT the author of delay or silence - He's the God of SUDDENLY. I don't wait passively; I EXPECT boldly. Breakthrough is NOW because my Father is GOOD and loves to give to His children.
The Father isn't making you wait to build character. He's the Dad who RAN to the prodigal and threw a party IMMEDIATELY. He's not withholding the gift to teach patience; He's waiting for you to TAKE what He's already given.
