"I've been hurt too many times. It's safer to just stay alone."
How it sounds in your head: Every time you trust someone, they prove why you shouldn't have. The betrayals, the gossip, the backstabbing—it's evidence that opening up only leads to pain. Walls are safer than wounds. Isolation is protection.
"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."
-- Psalm 147:3Trauma-based vow partnering with enemy assignment to keep you isolated from the very community God wants to heal you THROUGH.
You have actual scars from actual people. The betrayals were real. The pattern of pain makes isolation feel like wisdom instead of prison.
Gomer betrayed Hosea repeatedly, cheated, left, sold herself. God told Hosea to take her BACK and love her AGAIN as a picture of His love for Israel. In the valley of Achor (trouble), God INSTANTLY made a door of hope—beauty from ashes in one moment.
I REFUSE the lie that past hurts mean future isolation. IT IS WRITTEN that God heals the brokenhearted and binds up wounds, and He's doing that RIGHT NOW. My past betrayals are not prophecy over my future friendships. IT IS WRITTEN in Joel 2:25 that God restores the years the locusts have eaten. The BARAK blessing breaks every cycle of relational pain. I am not damaged goods; I am HEALED goods. God is bringing me people who are SAFE, who carry His heart, who will prove that covenant friendship exists. I trade my walls for WINGS.
Your Father isn't telling you to get over it. He's running toward you with friends who will NEVER betray you, who will be SAFE with your story, before you've healed perfectly or risked again.
