"Inheriting money would have destroyed me like it destroyed other family members."
How it sounds in your head: Look what happened to your uncle, your cousin—the money ruined them. Maybe it's actually a blessing you didn't get it, because you'd probably be dead or addicted too. You can't handle wealth.
"Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy."
-- 1 Timothy 6:17Religious lie that poverty protects from corruption, mixed with real trauma of watching family members destroyed by sudden wealth and addiction.
He DID watch relatives spiral after receiving inheritance—addiction, divorce, overdose, bankruptcy. There's actual evidence that sudden wealth destroyed people he loved, and part of him believes God withheld it to protect him from the same fate.
God gave him wealth and riches beyond measure—silver was as common as stones in Jerusalem—and ALSO gave him wisdom to steward it. His wealth didn't destroy him in his season of walking with God; he thrived with both wisdom and riches simultaneously.
I REFUSE the lie that wealth would destroy me. IT IS WRITTEN: 1 Timothy 6:17—God gives richly ALL THINGS to enjoy. The blessing of the Lord makes rich and adds NO SORROW. My family members' destruction wasn't caused by money—it was caused by the ABSENCE of covenant connection. I am connected to the Vine, and the BARAK blessing protects me IN prosperity. IT IS WRITTEN: Deuteronomy 28:11—the Lord grants me abundant prosperity. I receive wealth with wisdom and joy.
Your Father isn't withholding wealth to protect you from yourself—He's preparing you to CARRY wealth with wisdom because you're connected to Him. He trusts you with abundance because you're His son, and He's about to prove that His blessing comes with supernatural protection.
