How it sounds in your head: You're experiencing intense spiritual warfare - nightmares, oppression, fear. Christians around you aren't experiencing this. Clearly you've got some unconfessed sin, some area you haven't surrendered, some door you left open. If you were right with God, this wouldn't be happening.
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world."

The attack is real and intense. Other believers seem fine. The natural assumption is that something is wrong with YOUR walk that's causing this.
Paul had a messenger of Satan sent to buffet him - not because of sin, but to keep him humble after receiving revelations. The attack came BECAUSE of Paul's spiritual breakthrough, not spiritual failure - God's response was 'My grace is sufficient' not 'fix your sin.'
I REFUSE the lie that spiritual attack means spiritual failure. IT IS WRITTEN that the enemy prowls seeking whom he may devour - he attacks because I'm a THREAT to his kingdom, not because I'm disqualified from mine. Jesus was attacked and He was perfect. Paul was attacked after receiving revelations. Attack is evidence I'm doing something RIGHT, not wrong. IT IS WRITTEN that the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in me - I have resurrection power and that makes me dangerous to darkness. I stand in the BARAK blessing that protected Abraham's seed through every attack - I am that seed through Christ and protected by covenant, not by perfect performance. I resist the enemy steadfast in faith, knowing God's grace is sufficient and His power is made perfect in my weakness.
Your Father isn't allowing attack because you failed. He's running toward you in the battle with the revelation that you're under attack because you MATTER - the enemy doesn't waste ammunition on non-threats.
