"I'm too young for God to use me or take me seriously."
How it sounds in your head: Adults don't listen to kids. You have to wait until you're grown up to matter to God. Right now you're just supposed to sit quietly and do what you're told. Your ideas and prayers don't really count yet.
"Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity."
-- 1 Timothy 4:12Religious tradition that creates age hierarchy, making children feel like second-class citizens in God's kingdom until they reach arbitrary milestones.
Every authority structure in his life (school, home, church) emphasizes what he CAN'T do yet because of age. He's constantly told 'when you're older' or 'not until you're a teenager.' His physical immaturity compared to teens and adults reinforces the feeling that significance is years away.
Josiah became KING at age 8 and 'did what was right in the sight of the LORD' immediately—no waiting period, no training wheels. By 16 he began seeking God, by 20 he was tearing down idols and reforming the entire nation—instant authority and impact while still a teenager.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too young for God to use me. IT IS WRITTEN: Let no one despise my youth—I am an EXAMPLE to believers RIGHT NOW. Josiah was KING at 8, Samuel heard God as a child, David killed Goliath as a teenager. IT IS WRITTEN that I am Abraham's seed, blessed coming in and going out, crowned with the BARAK blessing that doesn't wait for age. I am a chosen generation, a royal priesthood TODAY—not when I turn 18. The Father gives the robe and ring to SONS, and I am His son NOW.
The Father isn't making you wait in the lobby until you're old enough—He seated you in heavenly places IN CHRIST the moment you believed. Like Samuel hearing God's voice as a boy, your connection to Heaven is ACTIVE right now, not someday.
