"I'm too short/skinny/not athletic. Girls only like the jocks and tall guys."
How it sounds in your head: You look around the cafeteria and see who gets attention—the athletes, the tall kids, the ones who already look like high schoolers. You look in the mirror and see a kid who still looks 10. Your body is betraying you.
"But the Lord said to Samuel, 'Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.'"
-- 1 Samuel 16:7Enemy attacking physical development to create shame and worthlessness based on temporary appearance, stealing identity before puberty completes.
The guys who look older DO seem to get more attention, and your body legitimately hasn't caught up yet. Puberty is random and unfair, and you can't control when or how you'll grow.
David was the YOUNGEST, SMALLEST, and least impressive-looking of his brothers—so overlooked that his own father forgot to invite him to the prophet's visit. But when Goliath showed up, the short shepherd boy defeated the 9-foot giant with one stone. His size didn't determine his STRENGTH—God's presence did.
I REFUSE the lie that my body determines my value or my future. IT IS WRITTEN that man looks at outward appearance, but God looks at the HEART—and my heart is where His Spirit lives. I am being transformed into His image, and that transformation includes my body developing in HIS perfect timing. IT IS WRITTEN that I can do ALL things through Christ who STRENGTHENS me—not because of my height or build, but because of HIS power in me. The BARAK blessing covers me from head to toe, and favor doesn't follow muscle mass—it follows COVENANT. I am not too small. I am exactly where I need to be RIGHT NOW.
The Father isn't waiting for you to grow taller or stronger to love you or use you. He's looking at your heart right now and calling you MIGHTY, just like He did with Gideon hiding in a winepress. Your body is still forming, but your IDENTITY is already complete in Him.
