"I'm too passionate and should learn to be more moderate"
How it sounds in your head: I go all in on everything and people keep telling me to 'find balance.' I switch majors because I get so excited about new ideas. My friends say I'm exhausting with my intensity. Maybe normal people don't feel this strongly about everything.
"I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth."
-- Revelation 3:15-16Religious spirit of moderation that mistakes lukewarmness for wisdom and passion for immaturity
She's been told to 'calm down' and 'be realistic' her whole life while watching her enthusiasm make people uncomfortable. Every passion feels like proof she's immature or unstable.
Phinehas was so passionate for God's honor that he took immediate, extreme action that stopped a plague killing Israel. God said his passion 'turned away My wrath' and gave him a covenant of peace and eternal priesthood specifically BECAUSE of his zeal.
I REFUSE the lie that my passion is too much. IT IS WRITTEN that lukewarm makes Jesus sick and He wishes we were HOT. Phinehas' extreme zeal earned him an eternal covenant of peace. IT IS WRITTEN to never lack in zeal but keep spiritual fervor. David danced so passionately his wife mocked him, and God honored David and cursed her. My passion is the fire of the Holy Spirit, and I will not dampen it to make comfortable people less uncomfortable. The BARAK blessing is on my intensity because Abraham's seed carries the flame that changes nations.
The Father is not trying to moderate you - He's fanning your flame because He put that fire there. He's the God who appeared as burning bush and pillar of fire, and your passion is His Spirit burning in you, refusing to be contained or controlled.
