"I'm too old to have the energy to lead. Younger men have the stamina; I should step aside."
How it sounds in your head: You're tired by dinner. They're launching things at midnight. Leadership requires 60-hour weeks, and you can barely sustain 45. Honest assessment: you're slowing the team. Graceful exit beats forced removal.
"But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."
-- Isaiah 40:31World system lie equating energy with youth, plus religious false humility that disguises fear as 'making room for others.'
Actual physical fatigue is real and measurable. You used to run on 5 hours sleep; now 7 feels insufficient. Recovery takes longer from everything.
Moses was 80 years old when he stood before Pharaoh and began the greatest deliverance in history—confronting a king, leading millions, performing miracles, writing Torah. He didn't start leadership until the age most men are in recliners.
I REFUSE the lie that age depletes leadership capacity. IT IS WRITTEN that those who wait on the Lord RENEW their strength and run without weariness. IT IS WRITTEN that Moses was 80 when he STARTED leading Israel out of Egypt. My energy doesn't come from my age—it comes from my ANOINTING. As my days, so shall my strength be. I am blessed coming in and going out, and the Lord COMMANDS blessing on everything I set my hand to—including the leadership He assigned ME, not younger men.
Your Father isn't looking for stamina—He's looking for SURRENDER. When you're weak, HE is strong. He's not waiting for you to step aside; He's waiting for you to step UP so He can show His strength through your 'weakness.' The exhaustion is the setup for supernatural strength.
