"I should be a leader by now, but I'm still following. I've failed at manhood."
How it sounds in your head: Real men lead—in business, in church, in relationships. I'm 28 and still taking orders, still unsure, still asking permission. I should be the one people look to, but I'm barely holding my own life together. This proves I don't have what it takes.
"And Samuel said to Jesse, 'Are all the young men here?' Then he said, 'There remains yet the youngest, and there he is, keeping the sheep.' And Samuel said to Jesse, 'Send and bring him. For we will not sit down till he comes here.'"

Church culture celebrates platform and position while younger guys are getting elder positions and leading ministries. Your lack of title feels like evidence of lack of calling.
David was so overlooked his father didn't consider him worth presenting when a prophet came to anoint the next king. The shepherd boy was anointed king that SAME DAY, moving from invisible to chosen in one encounter.
I REFUSE the lie that my current position defines my identity or calling. IT IS WRITTEN that David was in the sheep field when Samuel anointed him king—the hidden place became the launching place in ONE DAY. I am NOT behind in leadership; I am being prepared in secret for public assignment. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed coming in and going out, the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath because Christ redeemed me into the Abrahamic BARAK. My lack of title does NOT indicate lack of anointing. I am a son connected to the Vine, and fruit is AUTOMATIC when I abide. The Father is about to promote me past men who started before me, because His favor isn't based on seniority but on SONSHIP.
The Father sees you as ALREADY a king and priest (Revelation 1:6), regardless of your current job title or org chart position. He's not waiting for you to prove yourself worthy of leadership—He's preparing an assignment that fits the royalty He already calls you.
