"I'm too needy. My emotional needs exhaust people and drive them away eventually."
How it sounds in your head: You feel too much, need too much, ask too much. People can only handle you in small doses before they pull away. You're a burden that drains everyone who gets close.
"The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit."
-- Psalm 34:18Trauma response from being told you were 'too much' weaponized to silence your legitimate needs.
You've watched friends create distance when you share real struggles, and you've been told directly or indirectly to 'get over it' or 'be more positive.' Your emotions have been treated as inconvenient your whole life.
Pregnant, abandoned in the desert, weeping alone—God showed up personally, spoke to her, gave her promises, and she named Him 'the God who sees me.' The invisible, desperate, discarded woman received direct divine encounter because her need moved His heart.
I REFUSE the lie that my emotional needs make me unlovable or burdensome. IT IS WRITTEN that the LORD is NEAR to the brokenhearted—my pain attracts His presence, not His rejection. I am not too much for the God who is more than enough. IT IS WRITTEN that He collects my tears in a bottle and records each one. I am seen, known, and celebrated in my neediness. The BARAK blessing covers me not because I have it all together but because I am His covenant daughter. I receive His nearness NOW, in this moment, exactly as I am.
The Father doesn't roll His eyes at your emotions—He runs toward your broken heart because that's where He does His best work. You are not a burden; you are beloved, and your need is your invitation to His abundance.
