"I never learned to receive love. It's too late to start now."
How it sounds in your head: You were raised to be tough, to provide, to never need anyone. You've spent 90 years keeping people at arm's length, refusing help, saying 'I'm fine' when you weren't. Now you're dying and you still don't know how to let people love you. You missed the chance.
"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!"
-- Matthew 7:11Enemy uses masculine strength training and emotional suppression to make vulnerability feel like weakness, closing the door to receiving love.
He's said 'I don't need help' ten thousand times. He's minimized pain, refused support, pushed through alone. That's been his identity—the strong one. Learning to receive feels like becoming someone else, and there's no time left.
Bartimaeus spent his whole life as a beggar, rejected, told to shut up. One moment he cried out to Jesus—didn't know the 'right way' to ask—and Jesus immediately healed him. No lessons in receiving required. Just desperation and open hands.
I REFUSE the lie that it's too late to learn to receive love. IT IS WRITTEN that my Father gives good things to those who ASK—not to those who've mastered receiving, not to those who've always been vulnerable, but to those who simply ask. I've spent 90 years with closed fists, saying 'I'm fine.' I open my hands NOW. IT IS WRITTEN that God's strength is perfected in weakness—my inability to receive perfectly is not disqualifying. I receive like a child, clumsy and new, and He delights in giving anyway.
The Father isn't waiting for you to become an expert at receiving before He pours out love—He's been standing there your whole life with hands FULL, just waiting for you to stop saying 'I'm fine' and admit 'I need You.' This moment, this bed, this weakness—it's not too late. It's the PERFECT time to finally receive what He's been offering for 90 years.
