"I'm too much for people—too intense, too emotional, too needy—so friendships always end."
How it sounds in your head: You've watched friends slowly distance themselves after you shared too much. You replay conversations wondering what you said wrong. You've been told you're 'a lot' or 'dramatic.' Now you edit yourself constantly, never sure if you're the friend or the burden.
"The LORD your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."
-- Zephaniah 3:17Religion/World: Cultural messaging that women's emotions are problems to manage rather than reflections of God's image.
Past friendships have ended after you were vulnerable or needed support. You've been ghosted, told you're exhausting, or sensed people pulling away when you stopped performing the role of the cheerful, low-maintenance friend.
Mary had seven demons cast out—utterly broken, absolutely 'too much' for polite society, the kind of woman religious people avoided. Jesus made her part of His inner circle, trusted her with resurrection news first, never once suggested she tone herself down.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too much for genuine friendship. IT IS WRITTEN that the Lord my God rejoices over me with singing—I don't exhaust Him, I DELIGHT Him. I am complete in Christ, lacking nothing, carrying His Spirit who is never 'too much.' IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed coming in and going out, which means the right people are drawn to my presence, not repelled by it. The BARAK blessing makes me a magnet for favor, not rejection. I am the Father's daughter, fully loved in my intensity, my emotions, my depth. He's bringing women who will celebrate me, not shrink from me.
The Father isn't coaching you on how to be less so people will stay. He's so captivated by exactly who you are that He SINGS over you—and He's aligning you with friends who have the capacity to love the real you, mess and all.
