"I'm too depleted to receive from God - I need to rest first before I can minister again."
How it sounds in your head: You wake up exhausted. The well is dry. You can't give what you don't have. Everyone says you need boundaries, self-care, a sabbatical. But the needs don't stop and you feel guilty for even thinking about resting.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Source: World's system that says you must be full before you can pour out, contradicting the supernatural supply of the vine.
You literally feel empty physically and emotionally. Ministry has drained you and the thought of one more crisis feels impossible. Rest sounds logical and responsible.
Elijah was so depleted he asked to die, fell asleep under a tree in suicidal depression. An angel woke him with supernatural food, he ate twice, and went 40 days on that one meal's strength - INSTANTLY refueled in his emptiest moment.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too depleted to receive from God. IT IS WRITTEN that His strength is made PERFECT in my weakness, not after I've rested up. I am not a well that runs dry - I am a BRANCH attached to an infinite VINE. The sap flows whether I feel full or empty. IT IS WRITTEN in Isaiah 40:31 that those who wait on the Lord RENEW their strength - present tense, immediate supply. I declare supernatural refueling RIGHT NOW. The same God who fed Elijah in suicidal exhaustion feeds me TODAY. I receive divine strength in my weakness, not after I earn the right to rest.
The Father sees your exhaustion and isn't demanding more - He's offering immediate supernatural supply. Like the angel waking Elijah with fresh bread, He's bringing refueling to you in the middle of your depletion, not after you've recovered on your own.
