"I'm too dependent on others now - I've become a burden God can't use."
How it sounds in your head: I need help with everything - bathing, eating, walking. I used to serve others; now I'm the one being served. I feel useless, like a burden on my family. God uses the strong, not the completely dependent.
"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us."
-- 2 Corinthians 4:7Culture and religion both teach that worth equals productivity, that needing help equals losing value.
She literally cannot do basic tasks alone. Every day requires someone else's labor. She measures worth by contribution, and right now, she has nothing to give.
Crippled in both feet, completely dependent, unable to walk. King David brought him to the palace and said 'you shall eat at MY table continually' - not because Mephibosheth could serve, but because of COVENANT. He sat at the king's table for life, honored despite total dependence.
I REFUSE the lie that dependence makes me a burden. IT IS WRITTEN that God's power is made perfect in weakness, that we're earthen vessels BY DESIGN. Mephibosheth was crippled and still ate at the king's table for LIFE because of covenant, not capability. My worth isn't in what I can do; it's in whose I AM. IT IS WRITTEN in Ephesians 1:6 that I am ACCEPTED in the Beloved - not 'I will be accepted when I'm useful again,' but I AM accepted RIGHT NOW. The BARAK blessing doesn't require my independence. I am TREASURED, not tolerated.
Your Father isn't measuring your value by how much help you need. He's delighting in the opportunity to show His strength through your weakness, to have others serve you as unto Him. You're not a burden - you're a BELOVED daughter being carried to the finish line in His arms.
