"I'm too close to death now—healing would just be delaying the inevitable."
How it sounds in your head: Hospice is here. The doctors say weeks, maybe days. Why would God heal me now just to die soon anyway? It feels greedy to ask for more time when I've already lived 90+ years. Maybe I should just accept that my time is up and stop fighting.
"I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD."
-- Psalm 118:17Fatalism disguised as acceptance, partnered with religious idea that wanting to live is selfish at certain age.
Medical prognosis, advanced age, hospice presence, and everyone around her preparing for death create overwhelming narrative that healing is futile. Even asking feels like denial of 'natural' process.
Hezekiah received a divine death sentence through the prophet Isaiah: 'Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live.' He prayed, and before the prophet even left the building, God sent him back with a reversal: 15 years added. Death sentence OVERTURNED by prayer.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too close to death for healing. IT IS WRITTEN: 'I shall NOT DIE, but LIVE, and declare the works of the LORD.' Hospice is not the final authority—Jesus is. Medical timelines are not God's timelines. Hezekiah had a DEATH SENTENCE from a PROPHET and God reversed it. Lazarus was DEAD FOUR DAYS and Jesus raised him. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus is the RESURRECTION and the LIFE, and death has no power over those who believe. I am blessed with the blessing of Abraham, which includes length of days and fullness of life. I declare: I shall LIVE and not die, and I will declare what the LORD has done.
The Father who added 15 years to Hezekiah's life after a divine death sentence is not limited by doctor's timelines or hospice presence. He is the God of the 11th hour, the 4th day, the impossible reversal—and He's not done writing your story just because others have written the ending. You are not an interruption to His plan; you ARE His plan.
