"When people pray for me, they're praying for 'the sick girl'—that's how God sees me too."
How it sounds in your head: I'm always on the prayer list. I'm the one people 'lift up' every week. Even in God's presence, I'm the broken one who needs fixing. My label in heaven is probably 'chronic illness case #47362.'
"The LORD your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."
-- Zephaniah 3:17Religious system that reduces people to prayer requests, making her believe God sees her as a PROJECT instead of a daughter.
She's been on the prayer chain for three years. People ask 'how are you feeling?' before they ask her name. Even well-meaning intercessors focus on her symptoms in every prayer.
Four friends brought him as 'the paralyzed guy who needs healing.' Jesus' FIRST words weren't about his body—they were 'Son, your SINS are forgiven' (v.5). Jesus saw him as SON before patient, dealt with IDENTITY before symptoms.
I REFUSE the lie that God sees me as a chronic prayer request. IT IS WRITTEN that He REJOICES over me with SINGING—not diagnostic reports. When the Father looks at me, He doesn't see a disease label—He sees the Bride of Christ, the temple of the Holy Spirit, seated in heavenly places. IT IS WRITTEN in Ephesians 1:6 that I am ACCEPTED in the Beloved. Not 'tolerated while sick.' ACCEPTED. Delighted in. The BARAK blessing means the Lord commands blessing on my storehouses—He's not wringing His hands over my symptoms. He's SINGING.
While you think He's reading your medical file with concern, He's actually dancing over you with delight. The Father doesn't see 'chronic illness girl'—He sees the daughter He dressed in righteousness, and she takes His breath away.
