"I'm too broken to be pursued—people want easy, and I'm complicated."
How it sounds in your head: My mental health history is in my phone notes. My trauma isn't 'aesthetic'—it's messy. I've watched guys pursue the girl with the perfect family while I'm over here with therapy appointments and trust issues. Who wants a project?
"Therefore, behold, I will allure her, Will bring her into the wilderness, And speak comfort to her. I will give her her vineyards from there, And the Valley of Achor as a door of hope; She shall sing there, As in the days of her youth."
-- Hosea 2:14-15Enemy + world: The accuser uses your pain history plus culture's 'damaged goods' narrative to convince you that brokenness disqualifies you from love.
You've been ghosted after vulnerability. You've heard 'I can't handle this' when you shared your story. You compare your complicated reality to others' Instagram-perfect lives and assume you're unlovable by comparison.
Five failed marriages, currently living with a man, avoided by her whole town, came to the well at noon to dodge judgment. Jesus WENT OUT OF HIS WAY to meet her, offered living water IMMEDIATELY, and transformed her into an evangelist in ONE CONVERSATION.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too broken to be pursued. IT IS WRITTEN that God ALLURES me into the wilderness to speak COMFORT—He doesn't avoid my mess; He ENTERS it with hope and restoration. My complicated story is not a disqualifier; it's the testimony of His redemption. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO CONDEMNATION for me in Christ Jesus—my past doesn't define my future. The BARAK blessing covers me even in my brokenness because it's based on COVENANT, not condition. I am not a project; I am BELOVED, pursued, and chosen—complicated parts included.
Your Father doesn't see your brokenness and think 'too much work.' He sees it and thinks 'PERFECT place to show My glory.' Jesus didn't avoid the woman with five divorces—He PURSUED her at noon when no one else would.
