"I'm too broken and messed up to be used by God."
How it sounds in your head: I've seen what I've done, what I've looked at, what I've thought. God can use clean vessels, but me? I'm too far gone. Too much baggage. Too much shame. God uses people who have it together, not guys like me.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Religious lie that God's use requires your perfection instead of HIS perfection credited to you.
You're aware of your sin in detail but unaware of His grace in GREATER detail, and religion taught you God uses the qualified instead of QUALIFIES the willing.
Active prostitute in a pagan city, living in sin when the spies showed up. She hid them, believed God, and was INSTANTLY brought into the covenant—she's in the Messianic line (Matthew 1:5) with zero cleanup period required.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too broken to be used. IT IS WRITTEN that God's grace is sufficient and His strength is made perfect in weakness. I am not waiting to be clean enough—I'm MADE CLEAN by the blood of Jesus. IT IS WRITTEN that there is no condemnation for those in Christ. God doesn't use the qualified; He QUALIFIES the willing. My mess is not disqualification—it's my TESTIMONY. I am not too far gone; I am a TROPHY OF GRACE, and God is about to use my story to wreck hell's plans.
The Father isn't waiting for you to clean up—He's running toward you like the Prodigal's father, robe and ring in hand, WHILE YOU STILL SMELL LIKE PIGS. You're not too broken; you're His favorite kind of project.
