"I'm a burden to everyone around me. People would be relieved if I disappeared."
How it sounds in your head: You see the exhaustion in your roommate's eyes when you're struggling again. Your parents' forced cheerfulness when you call needing help. Your friends' subtle distance when you're 'too much.' You've become the problem person, the one everyone tolerates but secretly wishes would just...not need so much.
"Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands."
-- Isaiah 49:15-16Enemy accusation amplified by emotional exhaustion and rejection wounds.
You've needed support more than you've given it lately. You're the friend in crisis, again. The family member who can't get it together. When you imagine disappearing, you picture everyone's secret sigh of relief.
Five failed marriages, currently living with a man not her husband, avoided crowds out of shame—the town burden. Jesus went OUT OF HIS WAY to find her, stayed talking, revealed Himself to her FIRST. Instantly transformed from town shame to evangelist bringing the whole city to Jesus.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm a burden. IT IS WRITTEN that I am engraved on the palms of God's hands—I am permanently before His eyes, unmovable, unforgettable. He doesn't tolerate me; He TREASURES me. IT IS WRITTEN that He chose me before the foundation of the world—I am WANTED, not endured. The BARAK blessing means I am blessed coming and going—my PRESENCE carries blessing, not burden. I am not too much or too needy. I declare I am the JOY set before Jesus, worth the cross, worth the chase, worth the EVERYTHING.
The Father went out of His way to find you, just like He did the Samaritan woman. He's not sighing in exhaustion—He's running toward you with the robe and ring, throwing a party because you're HOME, calling you His DELIGHT.
