"I'm too awkward and weird. Normal girls know how to fit in and I just don't."
How it sounds in your head: I say the wrong things. I don't get the jokes everyone else laughs at. I feel like an alien watching everyone else know how to be normal. Maybe something's just off about me.
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations."
-- Jeremiah 1:5Enemy + world: Using conformity pressure and social belonging to convince her that uniqueness is a curse instead of the signature of her Creator.
She watches other girls navigate social situations effortlessly while she stumbles. She's been left out, laughed at, or looked at strangely enough times to believe she's fundamentally different in a bad way.
John wore camel hair, ate locusts and wild honey, lived in the wilderness, and screamed at religious people—the ultimate awkward weirdo. Jesus called him the greatest prophet ever born, and his 'weirdness' was exactly what prepared the way for the Messiah.
I REFUSE the lie that my uniqueness is a flaw. IT IS WRITTEN that God formed me in the womb and KNEW me—every quirk, every difference, every 'weird' thing was by DESIGN. I am not broken. I am CUSTOM-MADE. IT IS WRITTEN that I should not conform to this world, and my awkwardness might just be anointing that refuses to fit their mold. I declare the BARAK blessing over my uniqueness—I am blessed in my differences, blessed in my quirks, blessed coming in awkward and going out anointed. I am the head and not the tail. The Father didn't make me to blend in with everyone else. He made me to stand OUT, to carry something the world has never seen, and I will NOT apologize for being exactly who He created.
The Father is running toward you celebrating every 'weird' thing the world mocked. He's handing you a crown labeled 'one of a kind' while they're all wearing name tags that say 'copy,' and He's so proud you didn't fit their mold.
