"You're too logical and not spiritual enough. You can't feel God like others do."
How it sounds in your head: Worship nights everyone's crying and raising hands while you feel nothing. People talk about 'sensing God's presence' and you just don't. Your faith feels cerebral and dead. Maybe you're wired for facts, not feeling God.
"Then He said to Thomas, 'Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.' And Thomas answered and said to Him, 'My Lord and my God!' Jesus said to him, 'Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.'"
-- John 20:27-29Charismatic teaching that equates emotionalism with spirituality and logic with deadness.
You've faked emotional worship responses to fit in. Others describe supernatural experiences you've never had. Leaders emphasize 'feeling' God while your connection is intellectual, making your relationship feel second-class or non-existent.
Thomas needed physical evidence and logical proof before believing Jesus rose. Jesus didn't rebuke his need for facts - He SHOWED UP and gave Thomas exactly what his logical mind required, validating that intellectual faith is legitimate faith.
I REFUSE the lie that logic opposes spirituality or that I'm less spiritual because I don't feel emotionally. IT IS WRITTEN: Jesus gave Thomas EVIDENCE for his logical mind and didn't rebuke him (John 20:27-29). I offer REASONABLE service (Romans 12:1) - God engages my MIND as worship. My cerebral faith is valid and valued. IT IS WRITTEN: The BARAK blessing is on my intellectual relationship with God - I am blessed in understanding (Deuteronomy 28:3). Emotionalism isn't maturity. Truth-grounded faith is. God made my brain to THINK.
Your Father is RUNNING to you saying 'I gave you that logical mind because I LOVE deep conversation with you.' He's placing the robe on you that says 'Truth-Seeker' not 'Spiritually Dead,' throwing a feast celebrating your intellectual wrestling as intimacy, not distance from Him.
