"I'm too ashamed to tell my family how much I lost. I'm a financial failure."
How it sounds in your head: They trusted me to be responsible and I blew it. I can't face Thanksgiving knowing they'll ask how my investments are doing. I'm the irresponsible child who can't adult.
"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus."

She has to answer direct questions from family who believed in her, and the loss amount feels morally disqualifying. Shame is real and visceral.
He wasted everything on prostitutes and came home reeking of failure, broke, and ashamed. The father didn't lecture him at Thanksgiving; he ran to him, embraced him while he still smelled like pigs, and threw a party celebrating his return.
I REFUSE the lie that investment losses make me a failure. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for those in Christ—not reduced condemnation, ZERO. My identity is not 'financial failure'; my identity is DAUGHTER OF THE KING. IT IS WRITTEN that those who look to Him are radiant and NOT ASHAMED. The prodigal's father ran to him in his failure; my Father is running to me in mine. I am righteous by the gift of grace, and that righteousness isn't reduced by account balances. Shame is a lying spirit; I belong to the One who calls me BELOVED.
The Father isn't disappointed in you at Thanksgiving—He's proud of you for being His daughter. The prodigal's father didn't need an explanation or apology before the celebration; he just needed his daughter home.
