"I'm the person everyone forgets exists until they need something."

How it sounds in your head: Nobody texts you for weeks until they need homework answers or a ride or someone to vent to. You're useful but not wanted. You're the friend people remember when they're bored or need something, but never the friend they think of when making plans or sharing good news.

John 15:15

"No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you."

-- John 15:15
Enemy whispers: You're only valuable when you're useful, people only remember you when they need something. BUT IT IS WRITTEN: John 15:15 - Jesus says 'I have called you FRIENDS.' Not servants. Not helpers. Not the backup plan. FRIENDS. He shares His SECRETS with you, trusts you with what the Father is saying, delights in your PRESENCE not your PERFORMANCE. You are not useful—you are BELOVED. You are not a tool—you are a FRIEND of God.
Quick Truth: LIE: I'm only valuable when useful. TRUTH: Jesus calls me FRIEND (John 15:15). PRESENCE over performance. BELOVED.

Enemy wants you believing you're only valuable for what you can DO so you'll spend your life performing for love instead of resting in being loved for who you ARE.

Why this feels true:

You ARE being used by people who only reach out when they need something. You're experiencing transactional relationships where your value is based on your usefulness, and that's genuinely painful and dehumanizing.

Luke 10:38-42
Mary of Bethany

Martha was busy serving, doing all the work, being USEFUL while Mary just sat at Jesus' feet doing 'nothing.' When Martha complained, Jesus said 'Mary has chosen the GOOD part which will not be taken from her'—your PRESENCE is more valuable than your PERFORMANCE, and sitting with Him matters more than serving Him.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that I am only valuable when I am useful or that people only want me when they need something. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus calls me FRIEND, not servant. IT IS WRITTEN that I have chosen the good part—His PRESENCE—which will not be taken from me. I am not a tool—I am a BELOVED daughter. I am not useful—I am DELIGHTED IN. The BARAK blessing didn't make Abraham valuable because of what he DID but because of WHOSE he was, and I am valuable because I belong to the Father, not because of what I produce.

But God actually:

The Father isn't waiting for you to be more useful or serve Him better to enjoy you—He's already enjoying you RIGHT NOW, delighting in your presence, wanting your company more than your performance. He didn't wait for the prodigal to prove himself useful again—He threw a party just because his SON WAS HOME, and that's how He feels about you every single moment.
