"I'm the kind of girl people use but don't actually choose or commit to long-term."
How it sounds in your head: I notice the pattern—boys pay attention when they want something, then disappear. Friends include me when convenient, then forget me when someone better shows up. Even in my family, I feel like the backup plan, not the priority. I'm useful, not valuable.
"You shall no longer be termed Forsaken, Nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate; But you shall be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; For the LORD delights in you, And your land shall be married."
-- Isaiah 62:4Enemy twisting early relational disappointments + world's message that girls are commodities ranked by usefulness/beauty/compliance.
She's experienced the sting of being the friend invited last, the girl texted at midnight but not acknowledged at school. Social media makes it visible—she can see herself left out in real-time, and it feels like proof of her disposability.
The unwanted wife, unloved and overlooked while Jacob pined for Rachel—she could feel his disinterest every single day. But God OPENED her womb and gave her sons, and through her came JUDAH—the Messianic line. Jesus didn't come through the favored wife; He came through the OVERLOOKED one, making her choice ETERNAL.
I REFUSE the lie that I am useful but not valuable. IT IS WRITTEN that I am called HEPHZIBAH—My DELIGHT is in HER—because the LORD delights in me, not because I've earned it but because of WHO HE IS. I am not forsaken, not second-choice, not the backup plan. He is MARRIED to me, which means ultimate commitment, ultimate choice, ultimate covenant. People's inconsistency does not define my worth. IT IS WRITTEN that I shall no longer be termed Forsaken, which means that old label is DONE. I am chosen, treasured, delighted in—not because of my usefulness but because I am His. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and NO ONE can snatch me from His hand.
The Father doesn't scroll past you looking for someone better. He's not keeping you around until a prettier, easier daughter shows up. He RAN toward the prodigal who had literally nothing to offer, threw a party, gave him the ring of authority—not because the son was useful but because he was SON. You are daughter, delighted in, forever chosen.
