"I'm the friend people settle for when their real friends aren't available."
How it sounds in your head: You're the backup. The last resort. People hang out with you when they have nothing better to do. You're never the first text, the first choice, the priority.
"We love because he first loved us."
-- 1 John 4:19Rejection wound from being picked last, second choice, or replacement friend weaponized as identity by the enemy.
You've been the bridesmaid but never the maid of honor. People cancel plans with you when something better comes up. You're in the group chat but rarely the one planning the hangout.
Leah was the unwanted wife, the second choice Jacob never wanted, unloved while Rachel was adored. God's response wasn't sympathy—it was FAVOR. He opened her womb first, made her the mother of Judah (Messiah's line), and ultimately she's buried next to Jacob, not Rachel. God elevated the 'second choice.'
I REFUSE the lie that I'm anyone's backup plan or second choice. IT IS WRITTEN that God FIRST loved me—I was His priority before I did anything. I am chosen before the foundation of the world, and that settles my value forever. The BARAK blessing over me is the same blessing over Abraham—FIRST, not second. IT IS WRITTEN in Isaiah 43:4 that I am PRECIOUS and HONORED in God's sight, and He loves me. If the King of the universe calls me His priority, I will not accept 'backup' as my identity. My Father is running toward me with covenant friends who choose me FIRST.
Your Father didn't choose you because nobody better was available—He chose you FIRST, before time began, and is bringing people who see what He sees: a daughter worth rearranging schedules for, not squeezing in when convenient.
