"I'm awkward in groups and never know what to say so I just stay quiet"
How it sounds in your head: You watch other guys banter easily while you calculate what's safe to say. By the time you think of something, the moment's passed. You feel like you're on a delay while everyone else is live. Silence becomes your safety.
"So the LORD said to him, 'Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the LORD? Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.'"
-- Exodus 4:11-12Trauma: Past ridicule or rejection for speaking up, now hypervigilance
You've said something that landed wrong and watched the group's energy shift. You replay conversations afterward, cringing at your contributions. It feels safer to observe than to risk exposing your social ineptitude.
Moses called himself 'slow of speech and tongue,' completely awkward and self-conscious. God INSTANTLY made him spokesman for a nation, confronter of Pharaoh, deliverer of millions—his mouth became the weapon that freed slaves.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm socially broken. IT IS WRITTEN that God made my mouth and will teach me what to say. I am not awkward—I am ANOINTED. IT IS WRITTEN in Luke 12:12 that the Holy Spirit teaches me in that very hour what to say. My words carry WEIGHT because they carry HIM. The BARAK blessing makes me the head, not the tail—that includes conversations. I don't perform socially—I RELEASE what the Father is already speaking. My voice matters.
The Father isn't critiquing your conversational skills—He's putting His words in your mouth and preparing moments where what you say will UNLOCK others. Your 'awkwardness' is often His disruption of shallow patterns to introduce something REAL.
