"I'm not fun to be around. People have better options than hanging out with me."
How it sounds in your head: When plans are being made, you assume people are just being nice by including you. When you're together, you feel like dead weight in the group. You're convinced if you weren't there, everyone would have more fun without you dragging down the vibe.
"Let me see your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely."
-- Song of Solomon 2:14Enemy comparing your worth to entertainment value instead of the inherent treasure God placed in you simply by making you His child.
You've been in groups where you felt like you weren't contributing to the fun. Maybe someone once uninvited you or you overheard 'this would be better with just us.' Social media shows everyone else's highlight reel of epic hangouts, and yours feels flat by comparison.
Zacchaeus was a short, hated tax collector nobody wanted around - the guy who made parties awkward. Jesus saw him in a tree, INVITED HIMSELF to Zacchaeus's house, and said 'I MUST stay at your house today' - not pity, not obligation, but 'I MUST' - like Jesus would miss out if He didn't hang with Zacchaeus.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm not fun or that people have better options. IT IS WRITTEN Jesus says 'Let Me see your face, let Me hear your voice; your voice is sweet and your face is lovely' - the King of Kings wants MY company. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 16:11 fullness of joy is in His presence, and Colossians 1:27 says Christ is IN ME. I carry the PRESENCE that brings joy to rooms. I am Abraham's seed, blessed with the BARAK that caused even foreign kings to PURSUE relationship with Abraham. I don't chase inclusion; my presence is a GIFT, and the right people will recognize that.
Your Father doesn't see you as optional or boring - He says 'I MUST be with you today,' like He'd miss something irreplaceable if He didn't get time with you. He's running toward you with people who'll feel that same 'I have to hang out with them' urgency.
