"I'm not young enough or pretty enough to be valuable anymore."
How it sounds in your head: The world values youth and beauty, and you're watching both slip away. Men don't look at you the way they used to. You're invisible now. Your value is fading with your firm skin.
"Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised."
-- Proverbs 31:30Source: Jezebel spirit of image-worship combined with culture's brutal devaluation of aging women.
She sees media glorifying twenty-somethings, feels the shock of being dismissed in spaces where she was once noticed, and watches her husband scroll past women who look nothing like her current reflection.
Deborah led ALL of Israel—not as a young beauty but as a mature woman of such weighty authority that the nation's top general refused to go to battle without her. Her value wasn't in her youth; it was in her PRESENCE with God.
I REFUSE the lie that my value is tied to youth or physical beauty. IT IS WRITTEN that charm is deceitful and beauty passing, but a woman who fears the Lord shall be PRAISED—my value increases with intimacy with Him. I am made in the IMAGE of the Eternal God; I don't fade, I DEEPEN. IT IS WRITTEN in Isaiah 46:4, 'Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you.' My gray hairs are my GLORY, not my shame. Like Deborah whose mature authority led a nation, my value is in WHO I carry, not what I look like. I am the BARAK-blessed daughter of Abraham—favored, beautiful in His sight, radiant with His glory.
The Father doesn't see you through culture's lens of youth-worship—He sees you more beautiful NOW than ever because you look more like JESUS, carry more of His wisdom, reflect more of His nature. He's obsessed with you at forty-five, not in spite of your age but BECAUSE of it.
