"I'm not mature enough, wise enough, or spiritually deep enough to be used by God."
How it sounds in your head: I see women who know Scripture inside out, who pray for hours, whose faith seems unshakable. I'm still figuring out basic theology. My quiet times are inconsistent. My faith wobbles. God uses the spiritually advanced, not people like me.
"For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are."
-- 1 Corinthians 1:26-28Source: religious gatekeeping that makes God's use conditional on human spiritual achievement.
You've watched 'mature' believers get asked to lead, teach, or pray while you feel like a perpetual spiritual beginner. Your biblical knowledge feels shallow, your prayer life feels weak, and the gap between you and the 'deep' Christians feels enormous.
Mary was a teenage girl in a nowhere town with zero religious credentials, no theological training, no platform. Yet God chose HER to carry the Messiah. Not a priest's daughter, not a scholar, not someone 'qualified'—a young, unknown girl whose 'yes' changed all of history. She was used instantly, massively, eternally.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm not spiritually mature enough to be used by God. IT IS WRITTEN: God chooses the foolish, the weak, the unlikely to shame the wise and mighty. My lack of credentials is not a barrier—it's His strategy. I don't need to be a Bible scholar to be a voice. I don't need decades of faith to be used NOW. IT IS WRITTEN: out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants, God has ordained strength. The BARAK blessing is mine—I am blessed, favored, and positioned by covenant. God uses the willing, not the impressive. I am willing. I am His.
The Father isn't looking for spiritual resumes. He's looking for hearts that say 'yes'—and He chose a teenage girl with no training to carry His Son. He's not waiting for you to get deeper. He's inviting you to step into what He's already prepared for you, right now, right where you are.
