"I'm getting fat and everyone at school will notice and make fun of me."
How it sounds in your head: You see it in the mirror—your body is changing and not in a good way. The other guys are going to call you names in the locker room. You need to skip lunch or they'll think you're weak and gross.
"I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well."
-- Psalm 139:14Enemy weaponizing normal puberty growth + bullying culture to create shame about God's design for your developing body.
Your body IS changing rapidly and you don't control it, which feels scary. You've already heard guys mock each other's bodies and you don't want to be next.
Everyone looked at David's older brothers—tall, strong, impressive physiques—and thought THEY were God's choice. God chose the YOUNGEST, smallest shepherd boy and said 'Man looks at outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.' Your body size has ZERO to do with your value.
I REFUSE the lie that my changing body is something to be ashamed of or hide. IT IS WRITTEN that I am fearfully and wonderfully made, and that includes THIS body at THIS age. My worth isn't measured in the locker room or the mirror—it's measured by the cross, and Jesus said I'm worth DYING for. IT IS WRITTEN that the Abrahamic blessing is mine through Christ, and that blessing includes being blessed in my physical body. I am God's marvelous work in progress, and He doesn't make ugly things. I am the head and not the tail, blessed coming in and going out, and that includes how I walk into school every single day.
The Father looks at your growing, changing, awkward body and says 'THAT'S MY SON—perfectly on schedule, exactly as I designed.' He's not waiting for you to look different—He's celebrating the masterpiece He's building right now, stretch marks and all.
