"I'm afraid of dying. What if I'm not ready? What if God rejects me?"
How it sounds in your head: Death is coming soon and the fear grips you—what if you didn't do enough, believe right enough, confess every sin? What if there's something you missed and God turns you away at the gates? The uncertainty is terrifying.
"All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out."
-- John 6:37Enemy condemnation contradicting the FINISHED work of the cross and Jesus' promise that He will NEVER cast out those who come to Him.
Death is the ultimate unknown, and religious voices have filled your mind with 'what ifs'—what if your faith wasn't strong enough, your works weren't sufficient, your theology wasn't perfect? The stakes feel eternal and the fear paralyzing.
The thief had a lifetime of crime, zero baptism, zero church attendance, zero good works, and HOURS of faith. The INSTANT he said 'Remember me,' Jesus guaranteed him Paradise THAT DAY—no probation, no purgatory, no process, just INSTANT acceptance based on Jesus' finished work, not his own.
I REFUSE the lie that God might reject me! IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus will by NO MEANS cast out the one who comes to Him—I have come, and I am IN! The thief on the cross had HOURS of faith and went straight to Paradise; I have YEARS of faith, and Jesus is NO less gracious to me. There is NO CONDEMNATION for those in Christ Jesus—NONE! The barak blessing covers me in death as in life, just as it protected Abraham even in his failures. IT IS WRITTEN that NOTHING can separate me from God's love—not death, not life, not fear, NOTHING! I am KEPT by His power, SEALED by His Spirit, SECURE in His finished work!
The Father is standing at Heaven's gates RIGHT NOW with the robe, ring, and sandals ready, and the INSTANT you breathe your last here, you'll breathe your first there—and He'll be RUNNING toward you with arms wide open, shouting, 'WELCOME HOME, BELOVED!' There is ZERO chance of rejection, zero probation, zero disappointment on His face—only JOY.
