"I'm a burden to everyone. My family would be better off if I died."
How it sounds in your head: I see the exhaustion in their eyes. I hear them discussing my care like I'm a problem to solve. I cost money, need help, slow them down. They visit out of duty, not joy. I'm just in the way now.
"How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You."
-- Psalm 139:17-18Enemy: Twists her dependence into worthlessness, making her believe love requires self-sufficiency instead of being freely given.
She needs physical help. She hears financial stress. She sees their busy lives disrupted. The culture glorifies independence and she's fully dependent.
Mephibosheth was crippled in both feet, unable to care for himself, hiding in fear. King David sought him out specifically TO BLESS HIM, gave him all of Saul's land, and invited him to eat at the king's table CONTINUALLY—not despite his disability but because of covenant love!
I REFUSE the lie that my dependence makes me a burden. IT IS WRITTEN that God's thoughts toward me outnumber the sand—He delights in me RIGHT NOW, in this condition. I am not tolerated; I am TREASURED. IT IS WRITTEN in Isaiah 46:4 that even to gray hairs, God will CARRY ME. My value is not in what I produce but in whose I am. The Abrahamic BARAK doesn't require self-sufficiency—it PROVIDES. I am blessed, loved, and my presence is a gift, not a burden.
The Father is whispering to your family, 'Caring for her is not a burden—it's a PRIVILEGE. She carried you once; now you carry her. This is love made visible.' And to you He says, 'You are STILL My beloved daughter. Dependence doesn't diminish your worth to Me.'
