"Your body isn't good enough—you need to lose weight before you deserve love."
How it sounds in your head: If you were thinner, you'd be more dateable. If you were prettier, you'd be more valuable. Every mirror is a reminder that you don't measure up. You can't be loved like this. You need to earn the right to be desired by fixing your body first.
"I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well."
-- Psalm 139:14Source: World's beauty standards, comparison culture, diet industry lies, enemy's attack on image-bearing identity.
Every ad, every Instagram model, every movie tells you that thin equals lovable. You've been overlooked, rejected, or told to 'take care of yourself' before someone will want you. The scale feels like a measure of your worth.
Leah wasn't the pretty one—Rachel was. Jacob didn't want her and never loved her the way he loved Rachel. But God SAW Leah, opened her womb, and made her the mother of Judah—the line of Jesus. God elevated the unloved, overlooked woman to bear the Messiah.
I REFUSE the lie that my body is not good enough to be loved. IT IS WRITTEN that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I am not too much, not too big, not too flawed. I am the image of God, crafted with intentionality and precision. IT IS WRITTEN that God doesn't look at outward appearance—He looks at the heart, and my heart is made righteous in Christ. The BARAK blessing on my life is not contingent on my dress size. I am blessed in the city and in the field, coming in and going out, EXACTLY as I am right now.
The Father doesn't see you as a project to fix—He sees you as His masterpiece, already complete in Christ, and He's running toward you with love that isn't waiting for you to look different, be smaller, or become 'enough,' because you already are.
