"I'm a burden to everyone around me and they'd be better off without me."
How it sounds in your head: You see the extra effort people have to make for you—the accommodations, the waiting, the adjusting. You cost them time, energy, convenience. Deep down, you think they're just being nice.
"No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary."
-- 1 Corinthians 12:22Enemy twisting interdependence into worthlessness, using guilt to isolate and silence.
Every time someone helps you, you feel the weight of inconvenience. You replay moments where you slowed things down, required extra, needed assistance—and shame floods in.
Completely paralyzed, required FOUR friends to carry him, they tore apart someone's ROOF to get him to Jesus. Jesus didn't rebuke the inconvenience—He healed the man INSTANTLY and said 'Your sins are forgiven.'
I REFUSE the lie that I am a burden. IT IS WRITTEN: The weaker members are NECESSARY—I am not tolerated, I am VITAL. My need for help doesn't diminish my value—it reveals the body working as designed. IT IS WRITTEN: I am blessed and highly favored, the head and not the tail. I am not dead weight—I am a CRITICAL piece of God's design, and the Father delights in me exactly as I am.
The Father isn't frustrated by your need—He DESIGNED the body to carry one another, and you are the exact kind of member He calls NECESSARY. Like the paralyzed man, your friends' effort isn't inconvenience—it's LOVE in action, and Jesus meets you there.
