"I'll start eating healthy and working out consistently after this weekend/holiday/event"
How it sounds in your head: I'll mess up anyway if I start now. Better to wait for the perfect clean slate - New Year, Monday, after vacation - then I'll really commit.
"For He says: 'In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you.' Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation."
-- 2 Corinthians 6:2Procrastination spirit using perfectionism and 'fresh start' thinking to delay obedience and freedom.
Starting mid-week or mid-month feels messy and imperfect. Waiting for a clean slate feels more legitimate and sets you up for success.
The thief on the cross had ZERO time for a fresh start, no clean slate, no 'starting Monday,' no behavior change possible. Jesus said 'TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise' - instant acceptance with no waiting period or perfect timing required.
I REFUSE the lie that I need to wait for perfect timing to experience freedom. IT IS WRITTEN that NOW is the accepted time, NOW is the day of salvation. There is no magical Monday or January 1st that makes me more ready. Today I hear His voice and I will not harden my heart. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus gives rest to the weary - not after I clean up, but NOW. The thief on the cross didn't get a preparation week. I receive breakthrough today. The BARAK blessing is MINE today - not after I prove something, but because I am in Christ.
Your Father isn't circling dates on a calendar waiting for you to finally be ready. He's offering freedom RIGHT NOW, this moment, with no preparation period required.
