"I'll never have a normal family. I'm stuck with this brokenness forever."
How it sounds in your head: Other kids have both parents at games, family dinners, vacations together. I'll never have that. Even when I grow up and have my own family, this damage will follow me. I'm stuck.
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
-- Jeremiah 29:11Enemy using current circumstances to lock child into permanent victim identity.
He feels the daily absence of what peers have and can't imagine a future different from his present pain. The narrative of 'children of divorce' statistics feels like a prison sentence.
Obed was born into a family marked by loss, death, foreignness, and poverty—but he became grandfather to King David and ancestor to Jesus. His family's broken beginning didn't limit his extraordinary future—God used the 'broken' pieces to build the Messianic line.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm stuck in brokenness forever. IT IS WRITTEN that God has plans for my FUTURE and HOPE—not limitation, not damage, not repetition of pain. I am not building my life on my family's rubble but on the ROCK of Jesus Christ. My future family will be blessed, whole, and strong because God is the foundation. IT IS WRITTEN that the BARAK blessing is mine—I am blessed in the city and field, coming in and going out. What I lost doesn't define what I'll build. I have hope, purpose, and an EXTRAORDINARY future ahead.
Your Father is handing you the blueprints for YOUR family right now—and they're not marked by your past but by His promises, showing you a future so beautiful, so whole, so full of laughter and love that this pain will be a distant memory you'll use to encourage others who need hope.
