"I'll end up settling because nobody I actually want will want me."
How it sounds in your head: The guys who like you feel safe but boring, and the ones you're attracted to don't see you that way. You're afraid you'll either stay single forever or marry someone you're not excited about just to avoid being alone. Maybe you're asking for too much.
"Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart."
-- Psalm 37:4Source: enemy using fear of lack to pressure you into agreements that aren't God's best.
You've watched friends settle, and it looks miserable. But you're also terrified of being the only single one left, so maybe settling is inevitable.
Isaac didn't settle for the first woman in his vicinity. Abraham sent a servant on a LONG journey to find the RIGHT one. Rebekah showed up with camels, gold, and a divine appointment. Isaac loved her, and she comforted him after his mother's death. No settling, no compromise—God's BEST for both.
I REFUSE the lie that I'll have to settle or lower my standards out of fear. IT IS WRITTEN that God gives me the desires of my heart, not the leftovers. I am not desperate. The BARAK blessing brings God's best into my life—favor, provision, and divine appointments that exceed my expectations. IT IS WRITTEN that no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. I am not asking for too much. I am asking the God who made galaxies, and He delights in giving me more than I can imagine.
The Father isn't asking you to settle because He's short on options. Like Isaac, He can send the RIGHT person across deserts if needed—camels, gold, divine timing, zero settling required. You are not too much to ask for what's right.
