"I'll die before resolving things with my parents, and that's tragic"
How it sounds in your head: Your parents are gone or fading, and the chance for the apology, the conversation, the healing moment—it's slipping away or already past. You'll enter eternity with this unfinished business, this hole where reconciliation should be. Death is coming for you too, and this wound will never close.
"Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."
-- Colossians 2:14Enemy: Creates false timelines for healing, making you believe closure requires their participation or that death seals your pain permanently
You've watched the years tick by, hoping they'd acknowledge what they did. Now they're senile or dead, and that Hollywood reconciliation scene will never happen. It feels like being robbed twice—once by their failure, once by time.
Joseph's brothers sold him into slavery, tried to murder him, lied to their father for decades. Joseph forgave them and declared 'You meant evil; God meant it for good' WHILE they were still guilty, before they fully repented. His freedom wasn't contingent on their perfect contrition—he released them unilaterally.
I REFUSE the lie that I need my parents' participation to be healed. IT IS WRITTEN: The requirements against us were nailed to the cross—Jesus resolved everything without waiting for apologies. I choose Joseph's declaration: 'You meant evil; God meant it for good.' My freedom is not held hostage by their repentance or by death's timeline. IT IS WRITTEN: I am complete in Christ. The BARAK blessing breaks every chain—I am blessed in my final years regardless of unfinished earthly conversations. At 85, I enter eternity WHOLE because Jesus finished it, not because they did.
Your Father doesn't see 'unfinished business' when He looks at your parent-wounds. He sees FINISHED WORK—blood-bought, cross-completed, resurrection-sealed freedom that doesn't need your parents' signature. You're not entering eternity with holes; you're entering COMPLETE.
