"I'll always be one slip away from losing everything I've gained"
How it sounds in your head: Every good day feels fragile. Like I'm walking on ice that could crack any second. One stupid decision, one weak moment, and I'm back at the bottom. All this progress could vanish overnight.
"And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand."
-- John 10:28-29Source: Works-based recovery systems that measure righteousness by days clean rather than covenant position in Christ.
He's watched others relapse and lose everything, heard the stories, seen the chips get turned back in. The system teaches him his standing is based on his streak, not his Savior.
Denied Jesus three times with cursing after three years of discipleship - complete public failure at his worst moment. Jesus already prayed his faith wouldn't fail, restored him immediately after resurrection, and gave him the keys to launch the church - same day he was reinstated, no probation period.
I REFUSE the lie that my position is fragile. IT IS WRITTEN that no one can snatch me from the Father's hand - not even ME. My righteousness isn't a streak I maintain - it's a GIFT I received. One moment doesn't erase my identity. I am held by the grip of the Almighty, sealed with the Holy Spirit, and covered by the BARAK blessing that protected Jacob the deceiver even in his deception. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO CONDEMNATION for those in Christ Jesus. I don't walk on eggshells - I walk on SOLID ROCK. My Father doesn't have a reset button - He has a FINISHED WORK.
The Father isn't nervously watching you hoping you don't mess up - He's confidently holding you knowing His grip is stronger than your worst day. The prodigal was fully restored BEFORE he cleaned up, while he still smelled like pigs, because the Father's love isn't based on your performance streak.
