"If you were truly content in God, you wouldn't want more money—wanting increase proves greed"
How it sounds in your head: You feel condemned for even thinking about financial increase. Contentment means being happy with just enough. Wanting more than basic provision reveals a heart issue you need to repent of.
"And the LORD will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the LORD swore to your fathers to give you."

You've heard 'godliness with contentment is great gain' weaponized against anyone talking about financial blessing. The most admired Christians seem to need nothing and want nothing, and you feel less spiritual for wanting stability.
Solomon asked for wisdom instead of wealth, and God said 'Because you asked for wisdom, I'm giving you what you DIDN'T ask for too—riches and honor beyond any king.' God gave abundance even when it wasn't requested.
I REFUSE the lie that wanting financial increase proves greed and lack of contentment. IT IS WRITTEN in Deuteronomy 28:11 that the Lord grants PLENTY of goods as part of the blessing covenant. Solomon received wealth he didn't even ask for because God WANTED to give it. IT IS WRITTEN in 2 Corinthians 9:8 that God makes ALL grace abound so I have ALL sufficiency in ALL things with abundance for every good work. The barak blessing isn't minimalism—it's PLENTY. I am content in God AND expectant for His abundance without contradiction.
The Father doesn't measure your spirituality by your lack. He's the one who gave Solomon wealth he didn't ask for just because He delights in blessing His children beyond their requests.
