"If I tithe and give, THEN God will bless me financially—but I have to prove faithful first."
How it sounds in your head: I've been tithing for years waiting for the windows of heaven to open. I keep giving, thinking maybe if I give MORE or give perfectly, THEN God will move. Like I'm one more offering away from breakthrough.
"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work."
-- 2 Corinthians 9:8Source: Religion twisting Malachi 3:10 into a LAW/works transaction instead of understanding we give FROM blessing, not FOR blessing under the New Covenant.
She's been taught tithing is a KEY to unlock blessing, making giving a work instead of a response. She's trapped in transactional thinking—give to get—instead of receiving FIRST by covenant.
Abraham gave a tithe to Melchizedek AFTER he was already blessed and wealthy, not to GET blessed. The blessing came by COVENANT with God, and the tithe was a RESPONSE, not a requirement for increase.
I REFUSE the lie that I have to give perfectly to unlock God's blessing. IT IS WRITTEN: 2 Corinthians 9:8 - 'God is ABLE to make all grace ABOUND toward me.' I am blessed by COVENANT, not contribution. Abraham was blessed BEFORE he tithed—the blessing came by God's PROMISE, not performance. IT IS WRITTEN: Galatians 3:13-14 - 'Christ redeemed me from the curse that the BLESSING of Abraham might come upon me.' The BARAK blessing is MINE in Christ. I give FROM blessing, not FOR blessing, and God's supply is based on HIS NATURE, not my giving record.
Your Father didn't wait for the prodigal to bring an offering before restoring him—He RAN while he was still far off and covered him in blessing FIRST. He's not keeping score; He's keeping COVENANT.
