"If I tell anyone I'm struggling, they'll lose respect and my ministry will be over."
How it sounds in your head: You're the leader. The strong one. The one with answers. If they knew you're barely holding it together, crying in your car, doubting everything - you'd lose all credibility. Leaders don't struggle. Leaders don't break.
"If I must boast, I will boast in the things which concern my infirmity."
-- 2 Corinthians 11:30Source: Enemy's isolation tactic combined with religious expectation that leaders must appear invincible.
You've seen leaders fall when they showed weakness. The pedestal feels safer than honesty. Your identity as 'the strong one' is all you have left when everything else feels shaky.
Jesus told Peter he would deny Him three times - complete failure was PROPHESIED. Peter did exactly that, wept bitterly, and Jesus STILL made him the rock the church was built on - immediate restoration, full authority despite public collapse.
I REFUSE the lie that honesty will destroy my ministry. IT IS WRITTEN that Paul boasted in his INFIRMITIES, not his strengths. My weakness is not disqualification - it's the stage for God's power. I am not called to be invincible; I'm called to be AUTHENTIC. IT IS WRITTEN in James 5:16 to confess faults to one another. I declare that transparency releases power, not destroys it. The same grace that restored Peter after PUBLIC DENIAL restores me. I am under the BARAK blessing that protected Jacob the DECEIVER - my struggles don't cancel my calling.
The Father isn't waiting for you to get it together before He affirms you. Like Jesus telling Peter 'feed my sheep' after his worst failure, He's calling you forward IN your struggle, not after you've hidden it long enough to look respectable again.
