"If I just had what she has, then I'd be happy and my life would be better."
How it sounds in your head: Her clothes, her phone, her family's house—that's what's missing from my happiness. If I had those things, the emptiness would go away. Contentment is on the other side of having what she has.
"For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from them who walk uprightly."
-- Psalm 84:11Enemy redirecting worship from Provider to provision, from Giver to gifts.
She genuinely feels the ache of wanting and the temporary relief she gets from new things seems to validate this.
He was crippled, hiding in poverty, expecting nothing, son of David's dead friend. David SOUGHT him out, restored ALL of Saul's land to him, gave him permanent place at the king's table like royalty—INSTANT elevation from hiding to honor, not because he earned it but because of COVENANT with his father Jonathan.
I REFUSE the lie that possessions hold my happiness. IT IS WRITTEN that no good thing will the Lord withhold from me, and if He spared not His own Son, He will freely give me ALL things. I don't chase what she has—I receive what He gives. My contentment flows from the GIVER, not the gifts. IT IS WRITTEN in Deuteronomy 28 that I am blessed in my storehouses, blessed coming in and going out. The BARAK blessing is mine by Christ's blood, not by comparison or accumulation. My Father runs toward me with HIMSELF, which includes everything I need. I am seated at the King's table like Mephibosheth—INSTANT elevation by covenant.
Your Father isn't dangling blessings just out of reach waiting for you to be better. He's running toward you RIGHT NOW wanting to give you Himself, which includes everything, and His timing is perfect love, not withholding.
