"If I have too much, God will take it away or something bad will happen."
How it sounds in your head: Every time something good happens financially, I brace for the other shoe to drop. Maybe if I get too comfortable, God will test me by taking it away. Abundance feels dangerous, like I'm tempting fate or inviting disaster.
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."
-- James 1:17Source: Trauma from past loss combined with religious teaching that God 'tests' by removing blessings, creating a fear that abundance is temporary or punishable.
She's experienced sudden loss before—a job, a relationship, an opportunity—and now associates blessing with impending disaster. Sermons about Job and testing have convinced her that God allows suffering to build character, so prosperity feels like the calm before the storm.
Jabez prayed 'enlarge my territory' and 'keep me from harm'—and GOD GRANTED his request. God didn't say 'that's greedy' or 'I'll give it then test you by taking it.' He simply GAVE IT, proving God loves ENLARGEMENT without punishment.
I REFUSE the lie that abundance is dangerous or that God will punish me for having too much. IT IS WRITTEN that every GOOD gift comes from the Father with NO VARIATION—He doesn't give and then snatch back. The enemy is the thief who comes to steal; my Father is the GIVER who runs toward me with blessing. I am covered by the BARAK, and IT IS WRITTEN that the terror of God protects what He has given me. No weapon formed against my provision will prosper because I am under covenant, not karma. I receive abundance WITHOUT FEAR because my Father's gifts are IRREVOCABLE.
The Father isn't setting you up for a fall—He's not dangling blessings as bait for a test. He's the one who gave the prodigal the ring of AUTHORITY and threw a PARTY, not a probation period. Your abundance is SAFE in His hands because He's a GOOD Father, not a manipulative one.
