"If I had more faith, I wouldn't have lost my job."
How it sounds in your head: Other people trust God and get miracles. I must not have believed enough, prayed enough, had enough faith. My weak faith caused this. If I were more spiritual, this wouldn't have happened.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."
-- Ephesians 2:8-9Religious lie making healing/provision performance-based; enemy using faith as weapon of condemnation.
She's heard sermons implying strong faith prevents crisis. She compares herself to others who seem to have gotten breakthroughs she hasn't.
The thief was dying, had lived a criminal life, had zero track record of faith or good works. He said, 'Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.' Jesus responded, 'TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise.' INSTANT salvation, zero performance required.
I REFUSE the lie that my job loss is because my faith wasn't strong enough. IT IS WRITTEN that salvation and blessing come by GRACE through faith—and even faith itself is a GIFT from God, not something I manufacture. My standing with God is based on JESUS' faithfulness, not mine. IT IS WRITTEN in 2 Timothy 2:13, 'If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.' Even when my faith is weak, HIS faithfulness is UNSHAKEABLE. The thief on the cross got Paradise with a single sentence—no track record, no proof, just one moment of turning to Jesus. I am righteous by GIFT, blessed by COVENANT, and my Father's love doesn't fluctuate with my faith levels. I am Abraham's seed—the BARAK protected liars and deceivers. How much more does it cover me?
Your Father isn't standing at a distance saying, 'Believe harder!' He's running to you, embracing you, saying, 'I'm not waiting for your faith to be perfect—I'm HERE because MY love is perfect.' You're His daughter. That's enough.
