"If God were real and good, there wouldn't be so much suffering in the world."
How it sounds in your head: Kids get cancer. School shootings happen. If God is all-powerful and all-loving, how does any of this make sense? Either He can't stop it or won't—and neither option makes me want to worship Him.
"In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
-- John 16:33Ancient lie from Eden questioning God's goodness in the face of evil and pain.
He's watched news footage of war and disaster. A friend's little sister died of leukemia while the church prayed. God's silence felt like absence.
Job lost everything—children, wealth, health—through no fault of his own, questioning God's justice. God didn't explain the 'why,' but restored Job's fortunes instantly, giving him double what he lost.
I REFUSE the lie that suffering proves God's absence or cruelty. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus promised tribulation but also victory over the world. God doesn't cause my pain—He entered it on the cross and conquered it through resurrection. I am BARAK BLESSED even in a broken world. IT IS WRITTEN that Job received instant restoration after unexplained suffering. I receive peace knowing God is making all things new, including what feels unredeemable.
The Father didn't answer Job's 'why' questions—He just showed up. Sometimes His presence is the answer. He's not distant from your pain; He's been through worse for you.
