"If God were real and good, He wouldn't allow the suffering I've witnessed."
How it sounds in your head: You've watched good people die in agony. You've seen children with cancer. You buried friends in wars that made no sense. If there's a loving God, He's either not powerful enough to stop it or not good enough to care.
"Jesus wept."
-- John 11:35Enemy exploiting pain to question God's character, plus theodicy questions without gospel answers.
The suffering you've witnessed is real and horrific, and simplistic 'God's in control' answers feel like gaslighting. Your heart genuinely cannot reconcile a good God with a broken world.
Job lost everything—children, wealth, health—and never got an explanation for why. God showed up in the whirlwind but didn't answer the theodicy question. Instead, He restored double what was lost and gave Job seven more sons and three daughters, and Job lived to see four generations.
I REFUSE the lie that suffering disproves God's goodness. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus WEPT at human pain even knowing resurrection was coming—His tears validate my grief. God didn't send explanations; He sent His SON to suffer worse than I have. Job lost everything without explanation but got DOUBLE restoration. IT IS WRITTEN that in this world we'll have trouble, but Jesus has overcome the world. The BARAK blessing doesn't exempt me from a broken world but sustains me through it. God's not the author of suffering; He's the Redeemer of it.
The Father isn't distant from your pain, explaining it from heaven—He climbed down into it, bled in it, died in it, and then BEAT it. He's running toward you not with explanations but with Emmanuel—God WITH you—ready to carry what you can't.
