"If Christians were real, they wouldn't treat people the way they treated me."
How it sounds in your head: I gave church a chance and got burned. If Jesus really changed them, they wouldn't have gossiped about my family, excluded me, or acted like we weren't good enough. Their actions prove it's all fake.
"Therefore by their fruits you will know them."
-- Matthew 7:20Source: real wounds from people who claimed Christ's name but operated in flesh, creating a crisis of faith where behavior is mistaken for truth.
He experienced genuine mistreatment from people wearing crosses and carrying Bibles. The disconnect between what they claimed and how they acted is undeniable evidence to him that Christianity doesn't work.
Job's religious friends showed up and spent chapters accusing him, spiritually abusing him, and adding suffering to his suffering—all while claiming to represent God. God later rebuked these religious hypocrites and vindicated Job, proving that religious people can wound you badly while God's actual heart toward you remains pure.
I REFUSE the lie that flawed Christians disprove a faithful God. IT IS WRITTEN to know them by their fruits—bad fruit proves bad connection to Jesus, not that Jesus is fake. I will not judge the Vine by disconnected branches. The BARAK blessed Abraham the liar, Isaac the deceiver, Jacob the manipulator—the covenant stands even when covenant people fail. IT IS WRITTEN that God is not a man that He should lie. People failed me; God never has. I am secure in His faithfulness regardless of others' fruitlessness.
While you're nursing wounds from people who called themselves Christians but acted like enemies, the Father is running toward you saying, 'Their failure to love you doesn't change My perfect love for you.' He's not defending their actions—He's grieving them with you—and He's inviting you to experience His authentic heart that never wounds.
