"I yelled too much and damaged their sense of safety and self-worth."
How it sounds in your head: You were the angry mom. You raised your voice constantly, lost your temper, said things you can't take back. You see how they flinch at conflict now, how they struggle with anxiety. You know your anger created their emotional instability.
"Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness."
-- Lamentations 3:22-23Enemy condemnation that makes past anger into present permanent damage, combined with psychology that makes mothers solely responsible for children's emotional health.
You remember specific incidents of losing control. You can see their current anxiety and trace it back to your anger patterns. They've told you your yelling affected them.
He denied Jesus three times with cursing and anger, causing Jesus direct harm. Yet Jesus restored him completely by the fire, asking three times 'Do you love Me?' Full restoration. No probation. Immediate commissioning to 'Feed My sheep.'
I REFUSE the lie that my past anger created permanent damage in my children's souls beyond God's healing reach. IT IS WRITTEN that His mercies are new every morning for them—they are NOT consumed by my past failures. My yelling does NOT have more power than His compassion. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 103:12 - 'As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.' The same removal applies to the impact of those transgressions. The BARAK blessing covers my children with restoration. The Father is speaking new words over them RIGHT NOW—words of love, safety, and worth that drown out every harsh word I ever spoke.
The Father is rewriting their internal narrative with His voice of perfect love, erasing the recordings of your anger with His compassion. He's been doing this since before you even realized you needed to repent—running toward them with healing while you were still yelling.
